out for lunch - back in one minute

Last week ws gd and bad in jst equal bursts
psychology last weds ws v.amusing - due to the above joke and ishmael getting the giggles for at least an hour after that!! i kid u not...
ah how i love laughter!

the good was the funny weekend had in sunbury
the bad was monday morning and driving lesson
the good was hot fuzz and nando's on Tues eve with weez and elena :D
the bad was the persistent headache on weds
the good ws coming home early and sleeeping
the bad was missing the chemistry
the good was ishmael being a darling and giving me a lift
the bad ws the video editing software not co-operating in general studies (nt the type u take an exam in...)

can't remember much about last thursday or friday - an am trying to remember weather i'm supposed to have remembered anything that occured on those days
except getting an interview

yes!
Queen Mary's want to see me on Thurs - which is exciting and good and lovely
and all other happy adjectives

the weekend was GOOOOD
saturday was dodgeball tournament - spent all day settingup/playing/tidying up after dodgeball
over a 100 kiddies all in a church throwing balls at each other
brilliant!
and my talk thingy went well aswell (small miracle..!)
we broke even with costs and can give some to charity aswell
yayyay!

then Sunday went on for an age
mother was sick; which wasn't nice on mother's day
no.
lots of work was not done
but looking in my planner
i rele dont have tht much structured work

simply yukky revision

now it is Tuesday
and i am tired - jodi picccoult's "The Perfect Match" is enthralling and therefore i am reading later than i should
books over tv
most days

reading up on all things medical
in prep

life is good(ish)
I wish exams would hurry up and get themselves out of the way
nt before i'be managed to get myself to stuff knowledge into the brain until it is flowing out of the pen tho....

MY BIRTHDAY IN 2 WEEKS
Adultness looks rele scary yet too fun for words from this side of the fence....

You could have your pick of pretty things....

I want to live like I know what I'm leaving

Yes indeedy

Got Switchfoot's "Oh, Gravity!" album (their latest) from Hannah as my belated xmas pressie
imported from japan
for some reason - no idea - they're an american band!!
Its bin on repeat all eve
Loveage to the Hannah

and of course to switchfoot for making such amazing tunes....

In this life I'm stubborn to the core
In this life I've been burning after more
We both know what these open arms are for
You're everything that's fair
In this life, you're my only one

ok
other things
i have started using my frees productively (shock, shock - horror, horror)
and my evenings not as productively
which is wierd
but feels ok

really need to buy A2 revision guides....

babysitting for the first time in an age 2moro
looking 4ward2 it

haven't done an awful lot
cept i sat in library prep 2day and observed all the littlies doing life and stressing over miniscule amounts of homework
made me feel old but at the same time a tensy bit mature, hehe

gar
if only i could have a yr 8's or 9's workload for a week
t'would be biig partying week
lol!

erm
yes

Am madly looking 4ward to my birthday - saw the venue 2day - isn't amazing and needs mega clean
but there is potential there
they are one of the only places which would have me
it will b crowded
coz i am obviously soo overly popular
and hannah thinks i am mad for having it in that "shack" down her road
but yea
i don't think it will b all that bad after a clean
altho i wood love 2make it open plan
would b easier
but they're not that lenient

lol

hmmmm this post has included more hannah than is usual :P

she should b proud
bt i don't think she reads it
coz she has better things to do with her time

like watch endless re-runs of scrubs and friends

hehe

this post has been spectactularly pointless
i think this deserves congratulations
ther is a ton of things i should be doing
bt i can't b bothered to remember them
coz i'm so kwl!

wateva

argh!!
i've just looked at the time

where the heck has this evening gone?????????
ahhh

guess i dont have much time as i thought
i shall finish with these v.deep words....

I want to live and die for bigger things
Before I die I want to burn out bright

I need that sweet escape

Ahhhh
Alanis Morisette - Ironic has just come on the radio
brillant song!!

so
here
i am

my head is messed
finished reading "my sisters keepers" by jodi piccoult
makes u think....big life, scary(ish) thoughts
will read more by her

thursday - got an offer from UEA
woo! yea!
(part from the AAA bit..)
but its an offer

failed my driving test - nt2big a deal - more frustrating thn anything else coz it ws a silly lil thing.
next driving test = thurs 29th mar - so will miss lectures again.....

then fri i found that penninsula has rejected me
which isn't too big a deal
just waiting on queen mary's in london
not2hopeful
coz it is quite late on
bt never saying never....

i rele don't like sophie ellis bextors new song - this is a random fact i no bt still - didn't like her b4 don't like her now.

the weekend was much fun
sat woke up relatively early for a weekend - did work
then fished into richmond
and mooched round (mooched = verb = To wander about aimlessly)
and chatted and ate

and coffee shopped

i have been surprised to find that there are less shops in rich than in staines
and i have been reliably informed by weez that richmond is good for nothin bt shoes (which she wood no..)
still a gd place to meet tho
easier thn other places i could mention *coughs* ashford (ah good times!) - can't go thru feltham without smiling....

len-man has been a legend these past few days
with quotes such as "your mum has it"
in response to an anguished cry from bendall of "where's my maths textbook!?"
which made me laugh all the way to psychology
and her randomness 2day while high on sugar and caffiene

"that's no way to treat your husband-in-law-to-be"

*giggles some more*

oh
and my announcement that i want to eat her alive
after a frustrating lunch spent chemistry-ing

good times my fiancee
good times

ho hum
off2proof-read my 20 pages of psycho (to b fair 4 or 5 of the pages don't act hav much on them..but you know)

drive till you lose the road.

Thursday, March 01, 2007

and the answer is.....

Has been forever since i last blogged
in the middle of mocks i believe it was

Lots and nothing has happened

i went to woking on sat with merlin, hannah, josh, bb and decaf
bowling
good fun

then watched tiny bit of England being thrashed
and Lost

which was amazingly confusing
and once again i am hooked on the far-fetchedness and freakiness of it all

Monday:
Found out bio grade
Found i failed chem
Had a driving lesson
Went to physio
Fell asleep for an hour when i wasn't supposed to
Went to BSL

Tuesday:
Found out psycho grade and got back first draft of coursework (already an A! woo! yea - go me!)
Went to usual and extra chem lessons
Sat and waited twenty minutes for a non-exisistent hussellbury - and then did nothing with the free which prevailed from having no biology!

Wedsnesday: (why does that spelling look so wrong?)
had my last lesson EVER with Downey
literally an end of an era - SEVEN YEARS!
its not surprising i now border on insanity
but anywys
had coffee and biscuits from her and she passed onto us the various pieces of life knowledge that she felt obliged to, such as:
"you wouldn't get a new car without getting it checked by the AA - so with boyfriends always get the opinion of friends and family....if he's not interested in family then dump him"
"Going to uni is about being selfish"
and
"i watched this programme about 60+ year old bodybuilders - it was disguisting"
"what's a six pack?" (yes we were given the task of explaining a six-pack to downey - someone please cringe with me?!)
"if you had a guy who was that muscly you'd go to hug him and bounce straight back off him again (with apt hand and body movements to provide illustration)

ah trust the Downey to provide entertainment during, what was, a reflective lesson of the goods and bads of the past couple of years

but i'm gonna miss downey-isms a lot
she says we should pop in for a coffee sometime next term if we want to

but i think that might be a step too far!

2moro is Le Driving Test
lil doubts are a'creeping
but they are in the process of being banished

can't wait to get out ther all by myselfy
even tho i will be v.nervous the first time i'm by myself
it is something i will learn to enjoy

must go sleep
i swear if i was allowed to be i would be nocturnal
hmmm
thats a good idea for beginning of gap-year - do shift work - then i would be able to confirm my suspicions that i should have been a badger
or indeed
a normal cat
as they have so much lovely sleep during the day

*yawns*

yep that mattress looks goood

Oh I'm happy!

What Switchfoot thought of the London gig:

"after a lovely day off, we all headed over to shepherd's bush empire and checked out this historic venue. it seriously is one of the most objectively beautiful venues i've ever seen. ...the crowd was seriously the loudest and most enthusiastic i've ever heard. it was ridiculous, in the best sense of the word."

Set list:
stars
politicians
gone
we are one tonight
on fire
faust, midas, and myself
dirty second hands
this is your life
ammunition
american dream
awakening
learning to breathe
shadow proves the sunshine
oh! gravity
meant to live
only hope
dare you to move
(Taken from http://www.switchfoot.com/dailyfoote/day07.htm)

AND I WAS THERE!!!
:D

ok i no you guys are all sick and tired of me raving about switchfoot
but thought i would share this with you.....
jst to show how excited i remain about seeing them
in case you were in any doubt(!)

this set list is quite a bit longer than those which were played around the rest of the UK
(well at least it looks like it to me..... :P)

Happy Valentine's Day to you!

*thinks of switchfoot and grins*

Hello folks
I am not enjoying this halfterm very much
i have to much work to do in not enough time
i am going out twice or three times in the whole thing
which is no where near enough
work is soo annoying
i literally cannot wait for this summer when exams are all over
i hate mocks
on the upside the list of party-tunes is almost completed
it will be A RAAAVE....i rele have taken all the musical genres and played at least one song in the whole of the night of my party
:D
i have to admit i drew the line at classical
but i'm allowed to exaggerate here
its my blog
i am too tired
invites will be winging their way to you when i get round to making them
the venue is smaller than was desired
(blame the mother, blame the mother!)
so will be squeezing as many of you peas in there as poss!!
altho to be fair the place hasn't officially been booked and what-not
so may still be able to invite many more of the peas i had hoped i would be able to!
*floats off into the lithosphere chanting ancient Egyptian tunes*
not that i can remember what the lithosphere is
but it sounds kwl enough!!

OMYGOSH!!

I LOVE SWITCHFOOT
A LOT
ALOT

the concert last night ws a-maaaaazing!!! they are soo gd live
so worth the 6 month wait
the support act "verra cruz" were rele kwl aswell.....fairly heavy...bt of course they jst didn't get the same crowd response as switchfoot!

when verra cruz had finished we tried to get nearer to the front but we jst gt majorly crushed so tht didn't last long for me as my sis doesn't like crowds at all and started feeling claustrophobic so i accompanied her to the middle/back again...hannah and hannah managed to stick it out for a bit at the front and then came back to join us coz being in a group is more fun!!

and me and hannah (w) got to sing lots and lots of our fave songs
while smiling like maniacs at each other
specially during
"Gone" and "Meant to Live" and me and hannah (l) flung our hairs around us like madmen
and a nice guy let us move forward a little bit

i swear all the guys there were at least 6"4
which posed a bit of a problem to us 5"andsomethings
indeed most of the ppl there were around 20 (or older)
bt then switchfoot have been around for 10 years now so it all works out in the end!!

they played sooo many good songs (but really they should have stayed all night and played every single song just to cover all the different options!)
and they played the song with the lyrics used in my previous blog title "Only Hope" also known as the Mandy Moore song in "A Walk to Remember"
which i wasn't expecting them to....
which was nice
they played "Dare You To Move" to finish
just like i knew they would

:D :D
it makes me feel uber-excited jst thinking about it :D

boy, how on earth am i gonna manage to find a better 18th birthday pressie for hannah???
i think it might be impossible but we shall have to see!

wow i haven't blogged for a while (again!)
i don't intentionally do this as a weekly(ish) thing
i guess it just kinda happens

i have a lot of psychology to do before friday
but hopefully *crosses fingers and toes* school will be cancelled tomorrow due to snowage and i will be able to do lots of lovely work - once the excitement has worn off and i've had a good few snowball fights that is!!

i've bought a lot of work home from school with me to cover all eventualities (look at me being all organised - not!)

yes, other things that have happened today......drama exam was okay

*yay switchfoot is now playing on media player (not one they played last night incidentally) but still excuse me while i smile manically and go giddy with happy remembered memories*

hehe. this phase will blow over eventually i promise......the night exceeded my expectations (tho not too sure exactly what my expectations were!) which half explains my excitement!!!

errr yea where was i
yes
drama
was ok but a bit scary
downey left 2minutes after i arrived without her usual pre-exam telling me off for forgetting something and telling me to tidy myself up coz she was ill
so this perturbed me somewhat coz i'm used to last minute encouragement/criticism (more of the latter methinks!!)

then i went into the exam room and i got hugged by old, wrinkly, twitchy examiner (although i didn't exactly notice the twitch this time....maybe he's had botox to relax the muscle...wouldn't surprise me!)
which freaked me out and he said how it was good to see me and how good i looked (to be honest the "you look good" line has been used ever since year 10 so that wasn't too out of the ordinary)

then i got on and did my pieces, fluffed up the third one slightly, which is unusual coz i normally manage to pull these things off when i'm in the exam situation, think i was unconsciously trying to gt my head round things.....
then discussed my pieces
but then he hugged me on the way out
*shudders*
he would never have done that if downey was there (i hope)
for once in my life i actually wanted downey around
and i sincerely that is one of the last times those words escape my mouth (or, in this case, fingers)

he better pass me after that experience
eurgh
eurgh
eurgh
i'm gonna stop talking about it now
its giving me the heebie-jeebies.......gotta get rid of them

*thinks of switchfoot concert*
ok there we go
all better!!

going to go and eat

toodle pip!!

When it feels like my dreams are so far, sing to me of the plans that You have for me over again. And I lift my hands and pray To be only yours

Sorry to the ishmael for not blogging
things have been craazy times
i have so many emails to write it is
silly

tuesday and weds were good times
i think
i'm not sure
but i'm not going to focus on them.....

i'm going to focus on the day which was today
and by that i mean
my INTERVIEW

yes for those of you who were not aware, the ppl at UEA very nicely decided to give me an interview
so on wednesday afternoon my mother and i trundled off
through the london rushhour :S
to get to norwich
is rather a tedious journey - of abt 5 hrs on the train - on the way there i spent most of the time with my nose buried in january's edition of the studentBMJ (british medical journal)
in the hope that i would be asked a question about something i was reading (which i wasn't)
i also read my personal statement in the hope that they would have read it and be planning to quiz me on it (which i had been told they most definitely didn't do...bt it gave me something to read and distract myself with.....it also helped me to remember all the things that make me an amazing student.....)

my mother was very supportive and also very frustrating in other parts - but for the most part she stopped me from panicking and hyperventilating the night/morning before, navigated us safely through london and norwich (although i had to educate her in how to use some of the ticket barriers at tube/train stations....) and let me buy stuff with her money instead of mine.....which is good in any teenagers book.....

trying to find the building my interview was in was a stressful experience....we had been told it was a "good" 20 minute walk from our B&B so we set off with 30/35 minutes of time
bcoz i was abit anxious to make sure i gave off a gd msg by being punctual
so 25mins later we were nearly there...and i felt like screaming because we'd been told various conflicting messages about how to get to this place (and although by this time we were actually following signs) i felt like i was walking while not actually going anywhere (it was a very odd feeling because i knew that i was moving....i know you're all now worried for my mental health..which tbh you should have been doing for sumtime anywys....but by all accounts it was a truly angering experience)

i arrived by the skin of my teeth (where on earth does that expression come from?? i dont have skin on my teeth....i think i'm missing the point) only to find that they were running late - which made me more frustrated but kinda let me relax for a minute or two
my face felt like a red tomato
luckily it didn't look like one....i checked jst in case.....

then waited in awkward silence with ppl who i could have sworn were all already 21
they all asssured me we were the same age
(has anyone else had this experience??)
apart from one guy who was like 30

and by the time i had started to make acquaintances and actually started decent conversations about A2's, where we came from, where we had applied etc
they called us into the room, i quickly shut-up (definitely a good thing) and probably went a distinct shade of
green/white/purple/cyan (take your pick)
and it all began

the interview was act quite good - i mean i have nothing with which to compare it to - but i think it went ok......i went to seven different "stations" to talk to seven different ppl for five mins each with a one minute break in between......so v.regimented - this style ws gd bcoz if i mucked up one answer the next interviewer had no idea and i could get on with the next question with a new chance at things.
mostly i repeated myself to various different ppl, which hopefully they won't pick up on, smiled, sweated, shook hands, "ummmed" and "erred" in my mind while formulating the next string of ridiculous words to tumble out, while still tumbling out the last lot....and actually enjoyed myself in 4 of the 7 stations (thats an approximate value bcoz its all a bit of a blur...)

its all gd

now i am shattered from traipsing through norwich and discovering it is actually a rele nice city and sitting on a train, negotiating rush-hour tubes/waterloo/trains and jst generally staying awake after the huge adrenalin rush this morning....
it feels like:
i last went to skl last week
its the weekend
and i should defiitely not have to get out of bed at 6:35 2moro....

i have been here waaay to long....wow this is a long post!!
i dont care
but my dad is yelling

cu 2moro lovelies
xox

5 DAYS TILL SWITCHFOOT

Sunday, January 28, 2007

doubt your doubts and believe your beliefs

hello
bonjour
guten nachmittags (iz tht right??)
and all those good things

Tuesday feels like an approximate age ago
much has happened and yet nothing has happened

Wednesday involved exciting snowball fights and snow-angel manufacturing, much crazy foto taking with Stef R which ws fun as i had consumed much sugar and caffiene (yes it was the old comfort eating bcoz it ws soo cold in the common room....)
and getting semi-toldoff by the Downey as the exam is nearer than two weeks (well it is now! which kinda freaks me out) as my modern acting piece is not yet up to scratch, ho hum!!

Thursday was full of forgetting; to go to register, which lesson i was in at what times and that psychology coursework data collection was supposed to be doing
fun,fun

Friday involved more psuchology coursework (and amazement that the members of 8L could do a puzzle (which took us a very long time to work out ) in under a minute! so have had to "review" the results
darn the clever year 8's
though i think any coursework which involves data collection spells absolute disaster
circumstances conspire against us, especially me!
(beth, weez and hannah take notes never to have me in a group again!)
jokes: it wasn't that bad rele!!

then lessons: husselbury = work:chat ratio of 0.5:10
no change there
gates = stress level: chat with stef r level 50:50
and write-up of chem assessed pract going spectacularly worse than i thought it looked like when i did it at home
so overall no change

then psychology where there was a larger change
in which i actually got given homework (apart from the coursework)
and all because me and hannah were dawdling (is tht a word?!) out of the classroom as per usual
hmm and grrrs

saturday was 75% rest and 25% work
which invariably happens when i have an unstructured day ahead of me
nice bike ride with daddy-ums on the golf course
haven't bin for a while
man, those hills were difficult
lol!
then house to myself in the eve
which was very nicey for a change
watched tv and did nothing else much at all
cept eat
argh

i dislike comfort eating
however i love it more
its not even comfort eating
its just "i'm bored" eating

moral of the ramble: i should busy myself more being organised instead of being the lazy slob i am slowly becoming....
hehe
i love it rele
and plus, i'm not obese yet
:P

now i am off to finish work
*yea rite*
well at least i'm going to pretend that the above statement is correct

Conclusion: I live in a complete fantasy world!

9 DAYS TILL SWITCHFOOT!!

There is a silent pact of trust that I never could admit

I will destroy the evil in the world
one malfunctioning lampost at a time(!)

u belong with me
i belong to no-one
cept God

I am my own person
part of the milling crowd

Chem re-sit was ok - don't want to over-analyse coz i will drive myself with the "what-ifs" so will let you know exactly how it went when i get the results.
Thursday other than the chemistry is abit of a blur - saw mrs green about NLP which was fun and a little more of that self-analysis stuff...not much that i didn't already no to be fair but was still interesting!
much fun was had with mind-mapping software in psychology.....quite a rubbish lecture later on in the afternoon but not unbearable!

Friday was a bit of a blur aswell - mostly due to tiredness and pounding headache which is still haunting me at sporadic intervals. actually did work on fri morning which i haven't done for a while! biology was ok - debating about stem cells, genetic therapy and lovely other things like that....also scheming a trip to the natural hsitory museum - jst as human biologists and mrs husselbury (and now mayb also dr masri!)
which would b kwl - bt a lil wierd if it ws a 1:1 teacher, student ratio (coz only the two of us doing human bio)
also omar freaked me out bigtime by suggesting that ppl would think masri and mrs h were our rents if it wer jst them and us2.
not happy about this suggestion.
at all.
still we could look bac and laugh

hmmmmm......

chem was fun(ish) assessed practical (we are miileees ahead of the other chem grp which is pleasing!) and then it was psychology (yawn!) and then horse-riding - one horse got freaked and galloped - almost dragging newly dismounted rider with him - which was scary - luckily i wasn't aforementioned rider.

FUEL on Friday was gd....the vid of me and eilidh in a drama wasn't as embarrassing as it could have been!! so all is gd!

Last night i went with Omar and her parents and Omar's parents friends to see a play called "If I Were You" in the ford of guild
which was very laugh-out-loud funny
a nice relief
the darker sides of it were a nice non-advert for marriage

it involved a body-swap btwn man and wife
superbly acted

then went bac2omar's house, ate toast and went v.quickly to sleep as we were both shattered, specially omar who had spent most of the day dealing with "wierd" germans in london, but we did manage to reminisce nicely about DofE and the various scraps and mishaps; good, bad and downright hilarious.

such as anji walking into a disabled toilet cubicle coz the others were all locked, locking the door and turning round to be faced with none other than cathy dick staring back from the loo-seat.
this made me laugh at a lot, at anji's expense i fear!
(argh got anji and axni mixed up while typing - i thought i'd got out of the naming muddle i was nicely entangled in a year-or-so ago :S)

yes
i have spent too long doing this

like rolling up a ball of a string
right from the v.beginning

must go
hope ure various weekend activities have been fun

floods, gales and snow next week - love it!

Yes thats right ppl
I have just endorsed the above British weather
the reason for this is that we have had (almost) enough rain to replace the dangerously low supplies there were over the summer so this summer should be less hose-pipe bans (which means more water fights etc..) its all goood!
Sure within a couple of days of the weather i will be back to moaning - phaps a bit longer if its snow......

So......tomorrow is chemistry - i am crap scared - i rele need2find myself a chem tutor (nt b4 2moro obv!) who can help me get (at least) a B @ A2 - right about now i am set for *mumbles quietly and turns away* why, why, why?

ok i'm gonna put an end to another "i'm feeling hopeless" rant b4 it takes off
bcoz life is alot more than chemistry (or school)
and once i've got good grades in my ALevels i will be able to appreiciate that alot more!!
:P

my mock interview with Dodd on Mon went well as did the driving lesson :D
can't remember much about tuesday!
drivin lesson 2day didn't go quite so well - drama lesson also wasn't as nice as usual - downey ws in a mood and i hadnt gt one of my acting pieces up to standard

alot more has happened than i can remember to write down

did u miss me while you were out there looking for yourself?
la la la
however - i disagree with the song that is currently on virgin

heaven is not over-rated!
